Travel Science had its home office in Albuquerque, New Mexico for many years. As a service to that community, we have compiled a list of language resources for people living there.

We have no relationship and accept no fees from any organization or company listed here. This is a free service to the community.  If there are errors, changes or other resources you would like to add, call our present office in Jonesboro, GA (770-472-

Classes and private lessons. Classes are in the evenings and on Saturday mornings. Each term runs about 6 weeks. Individual lessons are $20.00 plus tax per hour. You can sign up to be notified of special projects (travel language classes, trips, etc.) by mail or email.

Part of a worldwide organization dedicated to the French language and French
culture, the Alliance Française of Albuquerque offers monthly social events as well as conversational French classes on all levels. Private lessons are available as is a French for Children program offering classes for infants through teens.

  The Juul Institute provides on-site, customized English as a Second Language and Spanish as a Second Language for groups and individuals in business, management and the workforce.  Our focus is on being more effective and efficient in the workplace through enhanced communication skills. 

They also train individuals to become ESL teachers and obtain the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Certificate.

Wordplay, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides after-school classes in Spanish, French, Japanese and Mandarin Chinese for elementary school children.  Parents that wish to enroll their child in one of these language classes should contact Molly Luethi.  Wordplay, Inc. coordinates with APS for the use of classrooms or the school library at an elementary school where a class is being held.

International and Cultural Organizations in Albuquerque The UNM International programs office maintains this directory of international and cultural organizations in Albuquerque.  Such organizations often have classes in the language of their associated country or can give you names of people to contact who might be able to help.

 

World Language Resources  This company has the world's largest selection of language products, as well as, links to other sites.  

To find products for a specific language, you can either use their Languages or Products button. The Languages button will take you to an Alphabetical Letter search page. The Products button will take you to a nifty search page where you can select your language from a scroll list, as well as, filter based on Platform (e.g., ALL or CD-ROM, audio cassettes, Macintosh, PC software, etc.) and Function (ALL or dictionary, multimedia, etc.) You can also perform a keyword search. 

Note: If you are looking for a CD ROM or other software language product, they are listed under two categories.

  • Place Section.  This link will take you to our Place Section where we list all the countries of the world. Find the country or place (island, territory, etc.) you are interested in from the scroll list. On the page for that place you will see a list of languages spoken there with links to the corresponding language page on our website.
      
  • City Section.  This link will take you to our Place Section where we list all the countries of the world. Find the country or place (island, territory, etc.) you are interested in from the scroll list.
